Dr. Bibhuti Ranjan Bhattacharjya is a Consultant Researcher at the Trans-Disciplinary Research Cluster on Frugality Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Presently, his academic research interest is concentrated on the dynamics of the frugal innovation ecosystem in a developing economy context. He has completed his Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from Assam Engineering College; Master of Technology (M. Tech.) from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Guwahati and Ph.D. from the Centre for Rural Technology, IIT Guwahati. He has more than 10 years of working experience in various projects related to the design, development and dissemination of frugal innovation in rural India. He has published articles in peer-reviewed academic journals such as Technology in Society, International Journal of Industrial Ergonomics, ASME Journal of Mechanical Design, and contributed chapters in scholarly books published by reputed publishers. Besides his academic engagement, Dr. Bibhuti has been involved actively in different science and technology popularization programs in Assam, India . He is also a member of the Assam State Academic Committee of National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC) since 2017.
